How To Clean Porcelain Tile?

One of the main advantages of how to clean porcelain tile is that it’s an easy-to-clean flooring material. The goal while CLEANING PORCELAIN TILES for the first time is to clear out any cement or plaster from the joints. Usually, this is a one-time procedure right after the initial laying of tiles on floors or cladding on walls.

We suggest you follow the steps below:

For LAVISH’S METAL-LOOK PORCELAIN TILES use a mild or diluted detergent(1 part acid for 5 parts of water)

If the flooring or coverings are being cleaned for the first time after usage, alkaline detergents should be used first to remove any greasy or substance before using acid-based detergent.

There are various brands and types of household cleaners available in the market- both in Alkaline and Acid-base. However,  it’s important you make informed decisions before purchasing these products as they range from mild to strong in nature.

  • Following the installation process, remove any dirt residues by cleaning the flooring and coverings thoroughly
  • Secure your tiles from the corrosive effect of acid cleaners by moistening the surface with water
  • By using a manual or automated brush, apply the detergent in an appropriate concentration as advised by the manufacturers. Also, keep in mind that materials like Steel, aluminium, and natural marbles aren’t used near the floors or coverings.
  • Let the detergent sit for as long as necessary, depending on the condition of the floor! Then scrub away any stubborn dirt and scrape away any mortar or plaster remnants.
  • Finally, rinse off the flooring or cover with water and clean it with a mop immediately.

How to clean Porcelain tile everyday

For daily cleaning of your PORCELAIN TILE FLOORINGS AND COVERINGS, all you have to do is wash them with water and normal detergents suitable for ceramic surfaces. It is not recommended to use waxes, greasy soaps, or impregnants. Cleaning products that contain nourishing substances (such as linseed oil), silicones, waxes, greases, or synthetic emulsions must be avoided since they leave an oily polymerized layer on the tile’s surface, altering the natural properties of THE PORCELAIN TILE.

If you have a stubborn stain that won’t come out with regular cleaning, use a low ph tile clean detergent and let it soak for a long time. Then rub it vigorously until the tiles are restored to their original state.

PORCELAIN TILES are chemically resistant, with the exception of hydrofluoric acid, which should never be used.

Cleaning glossy, high-gloss, and polished porcelain tiles

Over the passage of time, all polished surfaces tend to be more opaque.

To maintain the floor’s sheen for prolonged periods, we advise the usage of doormats. This keeps dust or scratchy particles off the floor as long as possible, especially if the room has an adjoining outside area.

It is normal to observe a minor loss in the shine after the first acid wash, as the acid removes the abrasive residue employed to treat the surface.

LAVISH ensures a long life for all its products. Particularly the PORCELAIN TILES that can withstand fire, frost, heavy loads, and every day wear & tear. In addition, they are also entirely recyclable and do not deteriorate over time. If you follow the simple steps above, you can ensure the fresh look of your tiles for times to come in the future.
